The EP call for proposals granted to CIRCOM Regional on March 13th.
A unique opportunity for several European Regional Stations to produce around the "European Citizenship" theme.

It will allow CIRCOM members to work together for a common project, in spite of the difficulties to match the languages, the themes, the cultural background, the editorial approaches and also the different TV formats.

From April 2013 to May 2014, the participating members will be able to produce 210' of original material in total editorial independence. The European Parliament will co-finance some of the related production costs.

The project will be coordinated by Alexandre Pletser from RTBF. The first preparatory meetings should be announced very soon.

The aim of the project is to allow CIRCOM Regional to commission 6 of its members to produce 42 items of 3 minutes duration each on common themes related to European Citizenship.

The 6 members who gave a strong commitment in the project are:

FRANCE TELEVISIONS (France), HRT (Croatia), RAI (Italy), RTBF (Belgium), TVP (Poland), TVR (Romania), TVSLO (Slovenia)

Moreover, all CIRCOM members will have the occasion to propose items related to the themes!

CIRCOM Regional will put at the disposal of all its members the entire collection of items, free of charge, in order to organize a wide European broadcasting of the material.

It is a fact that as Regional Public Service Broadcasters are defending freedom of speech, it gives them the credibility to broadcast this kind of items as close as possible to the European citizen.

This operation shows a great commitment of Regional Public Media in the public debate about the future of the European citizens!
