political_reportingCIRCOM Regional, in partnership with the European Parliament, are offering its member stations a unique opportunity for their senior political journalists or programme editors to take part in a series of three workshops between October 2012 and May 2013.

  • “Enhance your Political Programming”
  • A pan-European initiative bringing together leading broadcasters responsible for
  • Political and Current Affairs programme making

The aim of the workshops is to give programme makers the opportunity to consider their current programme output, compare it to that of other countries and to deliberate on how they can do it better.  The group will challenge and consider current political reporting and programming and why it is mainly a “switch off” and not a “switch on” for our audiences.  They will look at new technology and consider exchange and co-operation with their neighbouring countries. They will have the opportunity to put into practice what they come up with and to report on the whole experience to the CIRCOM annual conference in Spain in 2013.

The first workshop took place in Strasbourg from October 22nd to 26th 2012, the second in Brussels in February 2013 and the third in Santiago de Compostela in May 2013.  All travel and accommodation will be covered.
