CIRCOM Regional and DG Regio (EU Commission) organised a three-stage training programme in Brussels to help journalists explain how EU money is spent and how those who spend it should be held accountable.
This second workshop, led by Mia Costello on January 16-17th at the European Commission in Brussels, was a great success.
All the delegates had taken very seriously the task of finding and pitching a story. So we have now very good stories to take forward and hopefully to be filmed and aired.
Among the experts were Anna Kanakaki on social media and Nils Hanson from SVT who led a very interesting session on investigative journalism.
We now look forward to the third and final DG Regio workshop (place and date still to be determined) with the possibility of showcasing the delegates’ stories.
