Circom Training Reaches New Heights

The first Circom Sports Reporting Workshop took of in a big way.  Sports journalists attending the course were invited by RTV Slovenia to Planica where the World Ski Flying Championships were taking place.

They were able to witness for themselves the biggest ski jump in the world and see competitors trying to beat the current world record of 239 metres.  While they were there they were given access to the athletes and reports were made from Planica.

11 sports journalists from 7 countries attended the 5-day workshop, which was held at the RTV Slovenia Training Centre in Ljubljana.  The course led by Roy Saatchi, ex Head of BBC North Region, was a mix of theoretical and practical exercises.

Reports were not just about Planica but also about the Handball Premiership, Ice Hockey, Ice Skating and International Sports exiles.  One of the highlights of the workshop was the showing and analysis of each other’s sports reports. Judging by the quality of what was on show there’s no doubt that Sports Reporting in the regions of Europe is in good hands and that Circom Training aims to take it to an even higher level.
