The family of Sergio Borelli donated a part of his archive related to CIRCOM.
Sergio Borelli of RAI was one of the founding fathers of CIRCOM Regional. He was President of CIRCOM Regional from 1983 to 1989. Prolific and prominent Italian journalist, whose career began after World War Two, Sergio Borelli was a true media man, equally comfortable working for print and for television. He started his career as journalist in print before switching to television in 1965. International news and politics were his particular field of interest. In 1973, while being part of Prix Italia, Sergio Borelli and a group of professionals met Pierre Schaeffer of the French INA Institut National de l'Audiovisuel to lay the foundations of Cooperative Internationale de Recherche et d’Action en matière de Communication (International Cooperative for Research and Action on the Field of Communication), which we all know today as CIRCOM. In 1990 Borelli retired from RAI but continued to be active in the field of media.
He passed away in 2021 at the age of 98.
CIRCOM Regional is deeply grateful to the Borelli family for preserving his archive and for their decision to donate materials related to CIRCOM to our organization.
