The recent floods in central and eastern Europe have been devastating with lives lost and many communities affected. Reporting on the floods is difficult not only for local broadcasters but also for international organisations.

RTE in Ireland however, decided to call upon their CIRCOM contacts in Slovakia to help provide a live report for their “Morning Ireland” radio programme. Matus Jaco from RTVS Slovakia gave the report into their programme from the border of Slovakia and Austria where the Morava and Danube rivers meet.

The cooperation is a great example of how CIRCOM members can help one another in reporting extraordinary events.
