Valencia, 30.04.2014 . - CIRCOM Regional offered its gathered expertise to the Community of Valencia in order to collaborate with the officials or with the audiovisual industry for a future model of regional television, after the closure of the public service broadcaster RTVV last November.
During a conference hosted by the Valencian producers association under the motto "For a new public television in Valencia", the Spain’s national coordinator, Fernando R. Ojea, recalled that CIRCOM publicly wishes that the citizens of this Community can find a sustainable solution to continue receiving their audiovisual public service.
Ojea took part in a panel and pointed out the latest developments of CIRCOM in order to raise awareness of the regional TV in Europe and its recognition from the European Commission as a new stakeholder when reviewing the current directive on audiovisual services.
In another panel all the political parties, including the one that supports the regional Government that shut down RTVV, agreed to recognize the unquestionable need of an audiovisual public service that supports the identity and language of the region and that is able to boost the local audiovisual industry. Nevertheless the parties discussed on how and when this service can be recovered.
