Polish Public Television (TVP) has been awarded a honorary prize for its hybrid TV platform and launching the regional channel TVP Regionalna in 2013. The Polish Promotional Emblem Foundation believes that this award will help to raise awarness among the citizens about the changing regional and local media market. The award ceremony will take place in Warsaw on June 9th.
Formally, the regional channel TVP 3 appeared March 3, 2002, together with its news and current affairs profile. In August 2008 TVP 3 was replaced by news channel TVP Info, which broadcast regional programming 3.5 hours a day. On September 1, 2013 the Regional Programmes Department was created and local programmes were separated from TVP Info and moved to a dedicated channel – TVP Regionalna. From December 1, 2013 TVP Regionalna broadcasts its programme for 24 hours a day. In addition to the nationwide programme, each of the 16 affiliates broadcasts its own programme for viewers from its region.
The Polish Promotional Emblem Foundation pursues the "Polish Promotional Program" whose aim is to promote modern methods of production and management and to support companies operating on the Polish market in building and strengthening their brands.
As part of the program, the non-commercial “Teraz Polska” Competition has been held for the past twenty years, under the honorary patronage of President of the Republic of Poland, awarding a group of best products and services, which thanks to their quality, technology and functionality, stand out in the market and can be a role model.
To date the Competition Jury has granted nearly 500 awards, which have entitled recipients to use the ”Teraz Polska” ("Poland Now") Emblem.
Over the last 20 years the Teraz Polska Emblem has become a brand in itself. Its market impact and high recognizibility strengthen the competitiveness and market success of the winners honored.
