The new president of the Community of Valencia Ximo Puig said that he will do his best so that next October 9th, Valencia’s Regional Day, a regional public service TV is broadcasting again, even though it is “tentative".
Ximo Puig, who was elected by the regional Parliament last 28 June, claimed "very important to unite, to sew this territory". The public service broadcater is a fundamental instrument also "to defend our language, defend our culture, and there is an informative Valencian circuit, which currently does not exist, or is very weak”, he said. A new law has to be made, he added.
RTVV was on air from 1989 till November 2013, when it was shut down by the former regional government, after the Court rejected the layoff for hundreds of workers.
