12 women from seven European countries came together at France Télévisions (FTV) in Strasbourg for the CIRCOM Academy’s “Stepping Up” workshop. Three days of sharing experiences, learning from one another and exploring new possibilities for women in regional broadcasting.

This year’s workshop marked the fifth edition of “Stepping Up”, reflecting CIRCOM Academy’s continued commitment to supporting women in their professional growth and development.

Representing Bulgaria (BNT), Czech Republic, Finland (Yle), Ireland (RTÉ), The Netherlands (Omroep Gelderland), Spain (EITB) and Sweden (SVT), the participants brought their own stories, perspectives and experiences to conversations about the challenges women face in leadership roles and how they can support one another in overcoming them.

Through lively discussions, practical exercises and dedicated sessions, the women explored new approaches, discovered useful tools and found fresh inspiration for their professional journeys.

Above all, “Stepping Up” was an opportunity to connect with women who understand each other’s experiences, exchange ideas and celebrate each other’s strengths. The workshop fostered a spirit of mutual support and opened the door to lasting connections across Europe, reminding participants that they do not have to take the next step alone.

Workshop Schedule

Day 1 - Arrival (1900hrs – 2130hrs)
Welcome Dinner and a presentation in groups.

Day 2 - Full Day (0900hrs – 1700hrs)
Sharing the challenges of being a woman in leadership.
Understanding your leadership style and what how it impacts your team.
How to develop confidence as a leader.
Free evening.

Day 3 - Half Day (0900hrs – 1400hrs, includes closing lunch
The skills of being a coaching style leader and why it matters.
Sharing our work dilemmas. Get your colleagues help in moving forward.
