Maribor, Slovenia, May 4th – 18th 2008
Nineteen participants from 12 countries attended this years’ Circom Journalism Training Workshop.
The training was held prior to the annual conference and all delegates had the opportunity to participate in the plenary sessions and seminars at the conference.
The training was led by Michael Delahaye of the Thomson Foundation joined by Didier Desormeaux from Universite France Televisions and Sue Beardsmore also from the Thomson Foundation.
Karol Cioma led the technical team, four of whom were all former trainees on the Circom Journalism Workshops.
The stories produced during the workshop included a report on the Mountain Biking World Cup event that took place in Maribor, the expected increase in road tolls in Slovenia, what to do with border control buildings, the Serbian community in Maribor and re-cycling of waste. All these stories are available in an international version via the Circom Secretariat and previews can be found on the website.
