The participants will receive 4 weeks’ intensive Circom-training. The Trainers know-how, combined with years of experience in the field of broadcasting training will ensure the highest possible standards.
The core element of the CESA.tv programme is intensive training in the research and production of TV magazine stories covering European issues. A key part of the course will require participants, working in pairs, to travel to another European country and produce a feature report, working with crews from CIRCOM member stations in their chosen country (although some participants may have experience in using a camera).
Participants will gain insight into current developments, trends and successful television formats in different European television sectors with participants presenting their own country and their TV station to the rest of the group. They will also explore the role of the journalist in a democratic European society.
Another aim of CESA.tv is to deepen the young journalists’ understanding of European policy, economics and culture. Therefore, the course includes short trips to Prague and Strasbourg. In Prague the participants will gain insight into what it means to live and work in a boundless Europe and how all this has developed historically. During the excursions they will have the opportunity to interview well-known figures from the fields of politics, economy, journalism and culture.
Applications are invited from reporters and producers under 30 years of age. They must be employed by member stations of CIRCOM Regional.
CESA.tv is supported by the Robert Bosch Foundation and all costs for the flight to Nuremberg and back, training, accommodation, production during the course and on-site shooting abroad will be covered. Nuremburg is in the heart of Europe and is easy to access by train, aeroplane or car. Travel will be organised by the CIRCOM General Secretariat in collaboration with the participants.
We plan to hold these courses on an annual basis. Two terms of the project turned out to be a great success which we are very proud of.
