A Region, A Vision

Short Description

Discovery program: An interesting personality chosen according to her/his fame and eloquence, would invite us to visit his/her region in a deliberately subjective way. European regions facing economical difficulties would so be placed or confirmed as places worth being visited on the map of European or extra-European tourists (USA, Japan)

Stations foreseen :

National channels with a regional connotation (France 3, ARD, ERT, RAI 3, BBC, ITV, RTBF, RTVE, RTP, etc..), cultural channels (Channel Four, Arte), or regional and autonomous channels (Sicilia International, S4C), transnational channels with a generalist trend (Tv5, Deutsche Welle, RTP International, BBC World, etc), specialised channels (Voyage) or non-European channels open to the foreign world (USA : Discovery, International Channel, etc.)
Examples of topics

France /Corsica with the dancer Marie-Claude Pietragalla
Belgium /Hainaut with Franco Dragone (Cirque du Soleil)
Germany /Brandenburg with the film director Volker Schlöndorff
Greece /The writer Vassili Vassilikos would present Macedonia
Great-Britain /Scotland with Sean Connery, James Stewart or Irvine Welsh, Wales with Prince Charles, Bryn Terfel (opera singer), Ioan Gruffyd, Ken Follet (writer) or Tom Jones (singer)
Ireland /An Irish region presented by Mary Robinson or Bono (U2 Singer)
Portugal/ A region to select in the whole country with Mario Soares or writers such as Sara Mago or Antonio Tabucchi
Italy /Sicilia with Andrea Camilleri (writer and scenarist)

Format: It may be a monthly programme made of 8 contributions of 52 minutes

Language
Guest’s language with sub-titles. Commentary „off“ in accordance with the broadcasting channel necessities (international version with a script)

 

A first meeting between the co-producers from France 3, RTBF and ERT3 took place in the copro workshops during the last CR conference in Porto and a detailed working schedule has been set up. All interested stations are invited to participate.
