Idea
The UN has proclaimed 2002 as the Year of Mountains and Environment - Friendly Tourism.
It took a long time before people became aware of the importance of pure mountain streams as a source of potable water. They has been putting up buildings in the mountains, damaging and polluting the sources. One example : mountain holiday resorts have been constructed, largely in the Alps, with capacities for several thousand tourists.

More and more people have become aware of this pollution and the danger it poses to nature. A movement for the protection of the mountainous regions has been created. Along with various non-governmental organisations, it has begun lobbying the governments and parliaments in the Alpine countries. Many activities have been launched. Fori instance, many roads winding through the Alpine valleys have been closed to motor and bicycle traffic. In some of the areas, traditonal cars have been replaced with electromobiles, etc...

Examples like these and their pathway to success, or initial efforts and obstacles, could be shown in reports in conjunction with an international TV project to be called "The Symbiosis of Mountains and Tourists - 2002". A detailed synopsis is available.

RTV Slo proposes running the project from June 2002 to the end of June 2003.

The project was presented in the copro workshops at the CR conference in Kosice.
