Four youth documentaries about two youngsters from Denmark travelling to six of the ten new member states of the European Union: Cyprus , Czech Republic , Estonia , Hungary , Poland and Slovenia .
Neither of them actually new anything about those countries, and they started their travel with lot of prejudices. Their opinions were quit different, when they returned to Denmark ...

Programme 1:
Lisbeth and Mads in Slovenia talking with young people about religion, education and partying. Later in the same programme our hosts travel to Poland , where Mads talks about holocaust with a young Jewish girl and Lisbeth visits a typical, Polish farm
Programme 2:
Lisbeth and Mads are now in the Czech Republic , where Lisbeth sees how life is for a very young prostitute. Looking at a quit different issue, she is also going shopping with a young Czech girl. Mads meets a boy dreaming about a carrier within ice hockey and is learning about one of the biggest idols in this country: Jan Palach.
Programme 3:
Lisbeth and Mads move on to Cyprus . Here Mads learns about the fact, that Cypriot boys have to join military for more than two years, whether they like it or not. Lisbeth visits a family, who fled from Northern Cyprus , when this area was occupied by the Turks. Later in the programme they travel to Estonia meeting a young Russian, who has a lot of problems being Russian in Estonia . And Lisbeth is joining an Estonian girl's party.
Programme 4:
Lisbeth and Mads are in Estonia where Mads is talking about love, sex and relationships with an Estonian boy. Lisbeth learns about folk dancing, which is very popular within young people in Estonia . The two Danish teenagers finish their travel in Hungary . Here they join one of Europe 's biggest music festivals and visit a radio channel talking about young people and their tast of music
WHEN BORDERS DIVIDE
Six programmes about the daily lives of the minorities in Europe . In the programmes we visit the Romas in Germany , the North Frisians in Germany , the West Frisians in the Netherlands , The Danes in Germany and the Germans in Denmark . We learn about the lives, expectations and how they fight for the right to be part of a minority. Finally we go to Brussels where we talk with European politicians and people from the European council about the rights for the minorities ...

Programme 1:
The North Frisians in Germany . This young, farmers family has two small children, who both are learning how to speak Frisians and German. The grandfather in the family tells us about the former life as Frisian in Germany
Programme 2:
The West Frisians in the Netherlands are very active within the fight bewaring the minority. In this programme we meet a young Frisian family whose two year old son only learns how to speak the Frisian language and who sees themselves not as Dutchmen but as Frisians.
Programme 3:
The Roma - Sinti is the biggest minority group in Europe . Several millions live in the lowest parts of the societies in different countries. In Germany the Sinti have fought themselves into a better position than rest of the Gypsies in Europe . The Sinti we are visiting in Kiel have one big issue very important to them: the family
Programme 4:
The Germans in Denmark have lived in Denmark for centuries still they feel like Germans and get a lot of money from both the German and the Danish state to beware their lives as part of a minority. The family in this programme lives as farmers. The father is active within politics, the daughter joins a German school in Denmark , and the mother tells about cultural issues
Programme 5:
On the German island Sylt a big part of the population is Danish. At the small hotel driving as a family business we meet father and son telling about the past and present being part of the Danish minority in Germany
Programme 6:
The European Union has a lot of laws and good intentions helping the minorities in Europe . But do they do enough? We visit the European Council telling us about the problems forcing the European politicians to acknowledge the minorities and the European Bureau for Lesser used Languages says it is not enough with money - the intentions also have to be present
