History
In December 1992 the Polish Parliament passed the Broadcasting Act which became effective on 1 March 1993. In accordance with the Act, Telewizja Polska and Polskie Radio - joint stock companies of the State Treasury, public-legal institutions – were established on 1 January 1994.
TVP
Telewizja Polska (TVP) broadcasts two national channels (TVP1, TVP2), the news channel TVP INFO, one satellite channel TVP Polonia, thematic channels – TVP Kultura TVP Sport , TVP Historia, TVP Seriale, TVP Parlament, TVP Rozrywka, TVP HD, TVP ABC and since September 2013 also the new national channel created by 16 Regional Branches of TVP.
TVP’s activity is financed by licence fees and advertising, as well as sales of services and licences.
The process of television digitization in Poland has finished with the date of analog switch off being 23rd July 2013.
TVP3
TVP Regionalna – new channel created by Department of Regional Programmes (Ośrodek Programów Regionalnych) was launched on 1st September 2013.
It is TVP’s new project based solely on the activity of 16 renewed regional channels which provide viewers with the highest quality programmes about their regions.
It is meant to be a combination of local media, representation of the cultural heritage and the idea of Polish small homelands. TVP Regionalna combines practical and useful information about the immediate environment with an attractive representation of information about contemporary Poland.
It supports local communities and focuses on the decisions of local governments and local authorities.
The main objective of TVP3 – and the 16 regional branches – is quick and reliable information about the life of Poland and most importantly – its regions. It aims at promoting the notion of civil society.
All-day programme of TVP3 consists of a nationwide programme, and programmes broadcasted by particular branches – their own local news, current affairs and social issues auditions. Each regional branch broadcasts a live morning show – each with a different title and of a specific character but with certain common elements.

Monday - Friday (6 hours a day) 07.00 - 08.15, 17:30 - 22.15
Saturday and Sunday (6 hours a day) 10.00 - 11.15, 17:30 - 22.15

RTP is the Portuguese public service broadcaster for Radio, TV and Multimedia.
Founded in 1957, the RTP is still fully owned by the Portuguese State and mainly financed through state budget transfers under (1) a public service contract, (2) an universal license fee and (3) some commercial income generated by TV advertising on RTP channel 1. Complimentary sources of income are irrelevant.
Total combined annual income and expenditure: circa 300 million Euros. Number of RTP permanent employees (TV, Radio and Multimedia, plus all the common administrative and management services): circa 2.250.

RTS-Serbian Broadcasting Corporation has the task of informing, educating and entertaining, but at the same time has a special role in the social, cultural and political life of Serbia.

Channel 1
Distinctive public service programme intended for the widest audience with high quality content, providing a choice of different popular genres of national significance, reflecting the social, cultural and national diversity in the Republic. Ratings: From 2006 RTS Channel 1 is continously the most viewed Serbian television.

The task of this programme is to be a channel of innovation, aiming at the auditorium interested in intelligent, provocative, creative and innovative programmes. The aim of this programme is to ascend the essential interest of the auditorium. Its presents high quality content of educative, documentary, science, feature, children and sport programme and attends new types and genres of specialized thematic programmes.
RTS Digital
RTS-Serbian Broadcasting Corporation has started broadcasting experimental digital signal from 2005 and regular digital broadcasting from November 26th 2008.on RTS Digital, an experimental culture and art programme. This is our first thematical programme and the only culture and art programme in this part of Europe. Besides excellent foreign music programmes broadcast premiere on the territory of Serbia, the admirers of classic and jazz music can enjoy domestic repertoire, live concert broadcast of the RTS Symphonic orchestra, Big band, as well as best recordings of the RTS programme archive. Besides music, film and documentary programmes RTS on its first digital channel broadcasts educational, school and science programmes in the culture domain. Amongs them distinguish programmes about the origin of civilization, history of arhitecture, cultural heritage and development of contemporaty music and film.
RTS Satellite
Intended for our viewers living abroad, of multigenre character consisting of the best programmes from Channel 1 and Channel 2 at the same time has the task of being current, informs, advises of business and all other relevant infomation of interest to our citizens living abroad. The task of this programme is to provide a credible image of events in the homeland, informing them of the possibility of returning, preparing special culture, entertainment, business programmes as well as providing relevant transmission of sport events. The problem is that sport and film licence programmes can't be transmissed by satellite as the cost of such transmission is too high. Besides Europe starting January 1st 2010 Australia and North America are covered with our signal.
RTS Internet
According to the guidlines of EBU the task of public broadcasting services is to evolve from mono to multimedia organizations, RTS in order to broaden the offer of programme content is furhermore working on the application of the latest technologies in the Internet domain. RTS on Internet combines all actual Internet options (text, graphic, audio and video streaming). Visitors of the site can follow up TV and radio programmes by Internet, which is of special importantance for parts of the World without satellite signal coverage.
RTS employs 3.390 altogether and has a network coverage of 95% terrirory of Serbia with 8,5 million inhabitants.

Public Broadcasting Service of Vojvodina was founded in 1974 as Radio Television of Novi Sad. Radio Novi Sad's first broadcast was on November 29th, 1949 and TV on November1974.
The Broadcasting Institution of Vojvodina, Radio-Television of Vojvodina, is now a Regional Public Service, producing and broadcasting regional programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on two TV channels, RTV1 and RTV2, and three radio channels, RNS1, RNS2 and RNS3. Programs are produced and broadcasted in 10 languages, including nine minority languages (Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian, Ruthenian, Ukrainian, Roma, Croatian, Macedonian and Bunjevac) and Serbian language.
Also, Radio-Television of Vojvodina owns a studio-concert hall, “Studio M”, which was officially opened in 1965. Numerous concerts took place here that covered a broad range of styles including classical music, jazz, ethnic, rock and more alternative sounds.
The RTV web portal www.rtv.rs delivers the latest breaking news and current top stories from Vojvodina and around the world covering politics, society, culture, and entertainment. Some of its features are live streaming, delayed viewing, and radio pod casts. RTV web portal also brings news in Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian and Ruthenian language. It was also the first - and until recently - the only one in Serbia to introduce a special service called "Read for Me" designed for the blind and visually impaired.
During the NATO bombing in the spring of 1999, the TV building and supporting facilities of Radio Television Novi Sad were almost completely destroyed so TV production is still in rented premises.

TVR is Romania’s public television service. It has five channels (TVR1, TVR2, TVR International, TVR 3, TVR HD) which are served by a studio in Bucharest as well as five regional studios (TVR Cluj, TVR Iasi, TVR Timisoara, TVR Craiova, TVR Târgu-Mureş). TVR 3: A première in Romanian audiovisual – the first national channel dedicated to local communities
Romanian Television launched a new TV channel called TVR3 on October 10th 2008.
TVR 3 is the sixth channel offered by Romanian Television to its viewers after TVR1, TVR2, TVR Cultural, TVR International and TVR HD. In this way, TVR fulfills once more its mission of public television meant to respond to the public’s needs and expectations.
TVR 3 comes up with a dynamic and varied programme grid, which will reflect the regional events. TVR 3’s grid is made up of programmes produced by the regional studios from Iaşi, Craiova, Cluj, Timişoara, Târgu-Mureş and Bucharest. The southern part of the country will be covered by productions made by the central studios.
During the week, TVR 3 offers both informative programmes and utilitarian or entertainment programmes from Romania.
TVR 3 is a channel of public interest and a “must carry” for the cable operators. Like all the other TVR channels, TVR 3 is broadcast by Eutelsat satellite W2/16 degrees E.

Romanian Television got the audiovisual license via satellite for the regional studio in Targu Mureş.
On 6 of May , 2008 TVR Tg Mureş starts to broadcast . The new regional station joins the other four regional studious: TVR Cluj, TVR Craiova, TVR Iasi and TVR Timisoara.
Setting up the new regional channel is part of the TVR strategy concerning the development of the regional studious in order to reflect and broadcast the regional issues.

Radio Patria broadcasts a program about nationalities in language of nationalities. This is the program service that offers an international and reflective space for non-Slovak national communities in Slovakia.
